How to Be Saved

The most important decision you will ever make — and the simplest.

The Gospel

God Loves You and Has a Plan for Your Life

The Bible says that every person has sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standard. But God, in His love, made a way for you to be forgiven, made right with Him, and given the gift of eternal life — through Jesus Christ alone.

1

Admit You Are a Sinner

God is holy and perfect. We are not. Every person has sinned against God, and that sin separates us from Him. The Bible makes this clear:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

Sin is not just the big, obvious things. Any thought, word, or deed that falls short of God's perfect standard is sin. Admitting this is the first and necessary step toward salvation.

2

Believe That Jesus Died for You

God loved you so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for your sin. Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross in your place, and rose from the dead three days later. His resurrection proves that the payment was accepted:

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Salvation is not found in religion, good works, or church attendance. It is found in one Person: Jesus Christ, who died so that you could live.

3

Call Upon the Name of the Lord

Salvation is received by personally placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior. It is not a feeling. It is a decision — a moment when you turn from trusting yourself and trust in Christ alone:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13

The word "whosoever" includes you. There is no sin too great, no past too dark. If you call on Jesus in faith, He will save you.

4

Trust His Promise

Once you receive Christ by faith, the Bible promises that your salvation is eternal and secure. It does not depend on your performance — it depends on His:

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8–9
"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." John 10:28

Salvation is God's gift to you. You cannot earn it. You cannot lose it. You receive it by faith, and He keeps it forever.

Pray Right Now

A Simple Prayer of Faith

God hears the sincere cry of your heart. If you are ready to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, you can pray something like this — the words are not a formula, but your faith is what matters:

"Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that I need a Savior. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died on the cross to pay for my sins, and that He rose again from the dead. Right now, I turn from my sins and place my faith in Jesus Christ alone to save me. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me eternal life. In Jesus' name, Amen."

If you prayed that prayer in faith, the Bible says you are saved. We would love to hear from you and help you take your next steps.

You Were Saved — Now What?

The moment you trusted Christ, you became part of the family of God. Here are the first steps every new believer should take:

1. Get Baptized

Baptism is a public declaration of your faith in Christ. It does not save you — but it is the first act of obedience after salvation.

2. Read Your Bible

God speaks to you through His Word. Start in the Gospel of John and read a little every day. The King James Bible is your guide for life.

3. Find a Church

God designed Christians to grow together. A local Bible-believing church is where you will be discipled, encouraged, and equipped.

4. Tell Someone

Share what God has done in your life. The Gospel changes people — starting with you. Let the joy of salvation overflow.
